Consultation Fees and Reimbursements
The Yeronga Clinic uses the latest in secure payment technology so as to ensure your reimbursement process is as rapid and convenient as possible. The clinic follows the fee structures proposed by the Australian Medical Association (AMA) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and revises these annually. As we are not a bulk billing practice, payment is required to be made in full on the day of each appointment. Medicare reimbursements will be processed immediately and should appear in the nominated bank account within 2 working days. If not already done so, you will be required to register your bank details with Medicare (prior to your first appointment) in order to receive your refund as Medicare no longer issue cheques for the refund.

This practice only accepts Debit or Credit Card for payment of our professional fees (no Amex or Diners).  For an initial consultation with a Psychiatrist the time-frame may vary from between 45 to 90 minutes, and as such the pricing may vary accordingly. Subsequent consultations may vary in time between 30 minutes and 75 minutes and also vary in rate. Specific pricing details will be discussed at the point of arranging the initial appointment.
Appointment Cancellation & Late Attendance Policy
Our clinic provides an SMS reminder 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. In the event that you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment we require a minimum of 24 hours notice so as to enable the Clinic to rebook that session. If you have not notified our clinic of your unavailability within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment time a cancellation fee of $125 may be incurred. This fee is not rebatable by Medicare.

In the event that you are excessively late to your appointment (e.g. greater than 1/2 the length of the appointment) where possible our practitioners will try to see you for the reduced time-frame, however if this is not able to be done the appointment may need to be re-scheduled and the cancellation fee may be incurred.
Report Writing
A different fee structure applies for appointments for report-writing purposes (such as requested by courts, lawyers and insurance companies). These fees as well as those for preparation of reports from outside agencies (apart from your referring doctor) are available on request.
Medicare Safety Net

The Medicare Safety Net is a system whereby the Federal Government will meet 80% of out of pocket costs for all medical services delivered out of hospital after an individual or family. This substantially reduces the costs of continuing to see a Psychiatrist or Psychologist if ongoing review or monitoring is considered a necessary aspect of your treatment. Members of a family living together all contribute to the same threshold if they are appropriately registered with Medicare. Medicare will automatically keep track of your progress towards this threshold for you as your receipts are lodged. To receive this benefit however your family must be registered for Safety Net. We encourage you to do this, and can help with completing the  registration form can that must be lodged with Medicare.
