Dr Shama Kanodia
Qualifications: MBBS MD FRANZCP
Dr Shama Kanodia is a general psychiatrist with over 16 years of post-graduate experience, with special interest in perinatal psychiatry. She has general and specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Dr. Kanodia has trained extensively in mental health in both public and private sector in Queensland. She is currently employed as staff specialist in Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian andNew Zealand College of Psychiatry (FRANZCP). Dr. Kanodia has interest in medical education and holds a conjoint appointment with University of Queensland.
Dr Kanodia has interests in treating perinatal mental disorders, depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She is trained in Electroconvulsive Therapy and is a member of Perinatal and Infant Psychiatry Special Interest Group (PIPSIG) and Marce Society AustralasianChapter.
Dr. Kanodia does not provide private psychiatric ‘in patient’ care or private emergency ‘on call’ service.
